@burrybeast : hi I live in Renton, Wa. and I saw him and Billy Joel at Key Arena Feb. 4, 2010! Cool music huh! I have seen him 5 times!
And there it lies, bleeding
Simply the greatest rock and roll song ever recorded. Period.
@salvataggio It was the same way at the Tacome Dome in Washington State
@muskypucker i actually LOVE this type of music.
@rosscore Tee Hee………ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.
Has anyone else noticed the uncanny similarity between Elton and a fat, wig-wearing homosexual with rather a lot of musical talent?
@gono6
Good work, sir. A fantastic cover of theirs.
@muskypucker well said …agreed 100%
Though Goodbye Yellow Brick Road is a double album, this is the only song it needs to be good!
@christopnurse I think they clicked the wrong button. :)
5 actually disliked this?? You must be tone deaf!! Greatest opening to an album, Ever!!!!
you should hear Dream Theaters version of this tune
@DrFantastic1987 the sustained A doesn’t come as easilly as it used to be it’s still loud and powerful
Elton Elton Elton…my first love in music (after Elvis and the Beatles)…hearing his music used to make me sore so high, inspired…amazing man. Amazing talent. He will always be an icon of greatness and showmanship…love you brother. I don’t love anyone for what they do or dont’ do…but for who they ARE! GREAT vid!
one of the greatest rock n roll songs of all time…… period
I feel lucky that this was the music I listened to and got to go see live through middle and high school, what the kids listen to today just does not compare. Wish Dee was still with us, one of the greatest bass players ever.
@muskypucker As promised, the video has now been uploaded!
For anyone else who happens across this, I have recorded my own cover of funeral for a friend, you can find it here: /watch?v=xnlqCfJaq9U
I will probably also make it a video response too.
Thankyou in advance for watching it and i’m happy to receive some constructive criticism :)

he is like a kitten screaming whaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!! I LOVE IT!!!! can listen to it all the time :)
@muskypucker I’ve just finished recording and editing my cover of Funeral For A Friend! (Unfortunately due to a lack of resources I can’t do love lies bleeding for now, maybe I will in the future)
I am going to upload it to youtube tomorrow, i’ll leave another comment once it’s up, this is just bit of an advanced warning!
I hope you’ll enjoy it :) It was very hard to learn!
Davey Johnson is the coolest axe slinger going! This is a hootin band, if only Dee were still with us!
Who knew back in 1973 that we’d still be rock’n along with EJ today? If people told me we’d be going to concerts to see “Sir” Elton John and “Sir” Paul McCartney in their 60s, I would have said, “dude, you need to lay off the blotter acid for a while.” [chuckling] Looks like we were right when we were chanting the mantra – Rock N’ Roll will never die!
@05pricej That is awesome. I hope you post a video of you playing it. Love ta hear it. I learned a small part of Funeral for a Friend on the piano (I play guitar) and like going in music stores and messing with it on concert grands. :) Gives me goosebumps EVERY time I hear it. Keep listening to the good stuff and hope that the current state of ‘music’ will change.
But the intelligent ones can find this music.
