@obiwankubrick I think Omar should have been swallowed by a whale when he was on holiday.

Without humor no one would even bother watching the wire.

Bodie was a good dude. A real down homeboy. He was the type of dude who’d tell you the truth to your face.

  7. TheAnxiousMan

Humour is such an underrated aspect of The Wire.

I was satisfied with Omar’s death in the scope of the story. I was pissed that he died but him being killed in the way he was was very fitting.

Damn D name got dragged through the mud like he wasn’t shit and he didn’t even killed his self. It goes to show that we as people believe anything a person say to us. ” the bigger the lie the more they believe”. Even though I think D should have been killed.

Omar died because he had a weakness: he followed a code. A code which he wouldn´t hurt anyone who wasn´t in the game or would hurt a young hopper. Although this was a good thing, it is a weakness in the game. This proves that in the drug trafic it isnt enough to be tough, you have to be smart and cold. Very cold. Peace

I think it was entirely appropriate that Omar died as he did. It serves to remind us that even as a man like that could become legendary, and seem invulnerable because he extricates himself from incredibly dangerous situations, he remains a man and can be killed by anyone, at any time. Indeed, by making himself famous Omar actually contributed to the likelihood of an early death.

mariusSemeonortiz i think the way omar died is an example of what makes the wire THE WIRE. it is realistic (like your dad said). it is not the movies where somebody has a glorious death or something. it portrays social injustices. it is tragic that such an incredible and complex character like omar died like that.

  18. MariusSemeonOrtiz

Yeah i remember him sayin that, makes sense i guess when you think about it. I finished watchin the wire about 3 months ago but recently I watched just season 5 again since my cousin hadnt seen it yet. Anyway, what do you think of Omar’s death?? i mean, its real sad and shit and i at first was quite dissapointed, it being a lil’ kid than done him an’ all. I told my dad that but he thinks it’s realistic and shows how in the drug world anything unexpected can happen.

maaan i forgot about this scene. i miss this damn show too much, all this clips on youtube make me like depressed.

  20. chefawkes

ROFLMAO at this scene. Now i know what a flower shop in the ghetto is like.

  21. yeeeahbaby801

i agree with you naturemum. jd williams is a very good actor. in fact, the wire has some of the best actors i have ever seen. even the actors with minor roles were incredible.

  22. robinbanks999

Yeah I feel you, but remember what McNutty said. Nobody cares about a drug dealer dying in prison enough to investigate the death properly.

  23. Jrockthug

    ME 2

  24. MariusSemeonOrtiz

Yeah, it is a great scene… and i know what u mean, straight from the start when Johnny (Bubbles’ friend) tried to offer fake dollers for drugs and was caught in the pit D was the only one that didnt beat his ass… poot, bodie all the rest did.

but about D scene in prison when he gets got i think its a bit unrealistic the way everyone thought he did himself… the rope was way to long for it to had stragled him you feel me?
